Leo Morello, born in 1994 in Italy. Cellist, sound engineer.

Specializing in contemporary music performance, Leo regularly collaborates as a chamber musician with renowned and trailblazing ensembles.

Resident member of Klangforum Wien since 2023.

Co-founder of the New Art and Music Ensemble Salzburg NAMES (recipient of the Ensemble Prize from the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation).

Collaborations with dynamic and vanguard ensembles such as Black Page Orchestra, PHACE, oenm, Ensemble Schallfeld, Container Basel, alongside engagements with renowned orchestras including WDR Sinfonieorchester and Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto.

Performer on multiple award-winning CD productions, including Furrer 70 Jubiläumsbox (German Record Critics’ Award, Premio Abbiati del Disco) and Lucia Dlugoszewski: Abyss and Caress (German Record Critics’ Award).

Studies at the Mozarteum Salzburg under Enrico Bronzi, at the Hanns Eisler Hochschule Berlin with Stephan Forck, and at the Kunstuniversität Graz with Klangforum Wien. Sound engineering studies at the mdw Vienna.
